BIOGRAPHIE (French)
Née en banlieue parisienne, Sandrine grandit à Bordeaux. Un désir de réalisation de films se développe pendant son adolescence mais ne verra pas le jour de suite. L’appel de la découverte et d’aventure l’emporte l’année de ses 19 ans et c’est l’envol vers l’étranger. Après un voyage à travers le monde, vécue dans les îles comme à Saint Martin jusqu’en Nouvelle Calédonie, c’est le charme de l’Australie qui la fera choisir cette nouvelle terre d’accueil qu’elle n’a plus quittée depuis. Elle est présentatrice et productrice volontaire dans une radio locale populaire basée sur Sydney Eastside radio et travaille pour une émission Foreverfrench, très appréciée des auditeurs francophiles. Elle devient également actrice et metteuse en scène au sein d’une association de théâtre francophone « Le Petit théâtre de Sydney ».
En 2013, elle étudie pendant un an la production et réalisation de films à l’école de film et télévision Tafe North Sydney. Diplôme en poche, elle participe à des petites productions de court métrages aux côtés de cinéastes. Mais c’est au Vanuatu qu’elle sautera le pas de la réalisation lorsque l’archipel mélanésien fut frappé par le cyclone Pam en 2015. C’est alors que son premier film documentaire Pamdemonium prend vie.
BIOGRAPHY (English)
Born in the suburbs of Paris, Sandrine grew up in Bordeaux. A desire to make films in her adolescence had been instilled from a very young age, and it is her constant call for adventure and discovery which will eventually lead her into the film industry. In her early twenties, she travelled around the world, lived in New Caledonia, though Australia’s charm made her call that country home. She worked for the popular Sydney based radio station “Eastside Radio” on the show “Forever French” which was highly appreciated by Francophile listeners. She worked as an actress and director part of the French theatre company association “Le Petit Théâtre de Sydney”, working on numerous shows in Sydney. In 2013, she got a diploma in Film and TV from Tafe North Sydney and crewed on numerous short films around Sydney. Though in 2015, when the Melanesian archipelago was hit by cyclone Pam, Sandrine took charge and lead her team through the different parts of Vanuatu affected by this disastrous cyclone. Sandrine’s first directorial documentary film is born: Pamdemonium.
